Melania Trump is Seuss-ing up classrooms, sending out Dr. Seuss books to schools across the country.
To mark National Read a Book Day on Wednesday, the first lady is giving a school in each state a collection of 10 books, according to the White House.
The gift packages include a variety of 10 books by the famed children’s author, including “Seuss-isms!” “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” “The Cat in the Hat,” and “Green Eggs and Ham,” among others.
Also included is what the White House calls one of the first lady’s “personal favorites,” the 1990 Seuss classic popular as a graduation gift, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” Trump and 11-year-old son Baron have read the colorful book together “over and over,” a news release stated.
“Remember, the key to achieving your dreams begins with learning to read. Find what you enjoy, anything that interests you, and read about it. Every page will take you on an exciting journey,” Trump wrote in a letter to students receiving the batches of books.
Trump isn’t the first political-type to publicly tout some of Seuss’ most famous literary fare.
In 2013, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) read “Green Eggs and Ham” on the Senate floor as part of a marathon, filibuster-esque speech railing against Obamacare.
